My Streamlined, Hassle-free, Workflow Process

As a point of reference, my educational background is in the field of engineering. This implies that I'm process oriented. But at the same time, I believe in keeping things simple and straightforward.

I don't want to waste your time - I know you're busy, just as I am.

So, once you let me know you want to take me upon my Special Invitation to marketers, I'll review the preliminary project information you send me to make sure that it's something within the realm of projects that I work on - which includes:

» Long copy sales letters… typically 16 - 20 pages long
» Medium length sales letters… anywhere from 8 - 12 pages
» Short sales letters… 2 - 4 pages in length
» Magalogs, 20 - 24 or longer
» Full-page ads
» Direct mail packages… sales letter, order form, envelope copy, brochures
» Sales landing and "squeeze" pages

In addition to these types of projects, I'll also perform reviews/rewrites for web landing pages and sales letters.

Although I've been focused on the financial investment advisory niche, the alternative health, business opportunity and self-help markets are excellent project candidates. So, don't hesitate to contact me about projects in those categories.

Once I'm satisfied your project is one that I feel I can bring huge success to you, the next step is for you and me to have a phone conversation to discuss any remaining question I have about your project. It's also a great opportunity for you to ask questions of me.

The outcome of this discussion will most likely end up with me requesting additional samples of past promos - both successful and unsuccessful. I'll also ask questions about what your competitors are doing in the market place.

And just as importantly I'll ask about the volume of marketing you do and what your plans are for the next 12-18 months. Being a solo entrepreneur, I'd prefer to take on projects that could lead to additional work down the road.

NOTE: If you're looking for a copywriter to do a one-time only project, I'm not the best choice of copywriter for you. Here's why. From my experience, the best results - for you and me - are achieved when there is a strong partnership or business relationship is built.

Once we agree to work together, the next step is for me to develop a copywriting agreement that includes: scope of project, deliverables, timelines, and fees.

Speaking of fees. So much goes into establishing the fees for a project, I refuse to give out a writing fee until I know all the details of the project. It's no different than a painter or carpenter coming to your home to do a project. You won't get a price until he comes and looks over the job. The same goes for copywriting projects.

HINT: If you're looking for "cheap" copy, that's an indication we may not be well suited as business partners. If I have to cut corners in order to produce copy for you, you're not going to be happy with the results. Which means you're not going to be happy with me.

After we're both satisfied with the agreement, I get to work on your project. Here are the typical steps involved:

» Study materials from client
» Perform research to gather pertinent information
» Submit headline and lead ideas until we achieve agreement
» Develop first draft (includes all components of the package)
» Make revisions and resubmit

That's my process. It's not cast in stone. It can vary, based upon the client's needs.
